Annual General Meeting
Call to Order – 7:30 pm
Approval of the Agenda
1.0 Approval of the Minutes from the December 13, 2005 Regular meeting
MOTION – moved by Lloyd Cook to adopt the minutes as presented, seconded by Rod Rosland. CARRIED.
2.0 Business Arising From the Minutes
2.1 Tabled motion from December 13, 2005 meeting regarding donation to PAWS organization – after discussion it was agreed that the motion would remain tabled until the March 2006 meeting.
3.0 Chair Reports
3.1 Treasurer (K. McKenzie)

3.2 Membership Chair(R. Martin) – 82 regular, 33 family with 69 dependents, 3 youth
3.3 Pheasant Festival Chair (Devon Buteau) – n/a

3.5 Hunter Education Chair (Bill Marshall)
– regular course will begin in March
– volunteers are still required for the summer shotgun program
– Rick Martin is instructing a course for 15 participants with the Newell Christian School

3.7 Firearms Instructor (Jim Johnson) – n/a
3.8 Firearms Chair (Cliff Healy)
– looking for constructive suggestions for replacement federal firearms legislation should the Conservative Party win the federal election
3.9 Rifle Range Chair (Lloyd Cook)
– normal seasonal maintenance required
3.10 Archery Chairs (Lester Janke, Darryl Louey)
– The 3D range is planned and approved for the property adjacent to the rifle range, leased from the City of Brooks. Work will be scheduled as weather permits.
3.11 Fishing Chair (vacant)
4.0 New Business
4.1 MOTION – Kerry McKenzie moved that the delegates to the AFGA 2006 Conference recommend an amendment to Resolution #W5-06 (Drumheller Fish and Game Asociation) extending existing big game hunting seasons in all WMU’s in southern Alberta to 30 day (consecutive) seasons, seconded by Bill Marshall. Discussion. Vote – 16 in favor, 3 opposed. CARRIED.
4.2 MOTION – Moved by Donna Martin the we make available the funds set aside for youth shotgun purchases ($3300.00) to the Brooks Clays and Feathers Club. These funds are to assist in funding shotgun purchases, with the understanding that the use of these guns will be provided free of charge to those individuals enrolled in the youth program. Seconded by Kerry McKenzie. Carried.
4.3 The property (30 acres +/-) immediately west of the Vern Potiuk project is available for a long-term lease. If this is an approved Partners in Habitat Development project, we can obtain water for this parcel. Devon Buteau will discuss options with the appropriate real estate agent and bring the information to a future meeting.
4.4 Reminder to contact assigned donors and have donations in by January 27, 2006.

– Ozzie Schalm has agreed to write the history of the local association – he is looking for any input available.
4.7 Neal Wilson and Shannon Burnard, the new managers of the Antelope Creek Ranch were introduced.
4.8 Pheasants Forever (Lethbridge chapter) dinner – March 3, 2006
4.9 Habitat Symposium will be held at the Lethbridge Lodge March 2 & 3, 2006. Contact Rick Martin if interested.
