September 11, 2007 Executive Meeting

Call to Order – 7:30pm (Rod Rosland)
1.0 Old Business
1.1 Funding for Clays and Feathers Youth Program – the option to provide additional funding as needed had been left to the executive’s discretion at the May !5, 2007 Regular Meeting. It appears at this time that no further funding will be required this season.
2.0 New Business
2.1 Rifle Range – in good condition at this time. As we are coming into the busy season, assessments will be ongoing and maintenance will be performed as needed.
2.2 Archery Range – there is a need for a 60 - 70 yard target. This will be added as labour is available. We also need an additional sea can to store the targets we wish to save for use in competitions. A motion will be brought forward in the next Regular Meeting to propose this purchase to the membership.
2.3 AFGA Conference (Edmonton, February 21-23, 2008) – we should be able to send 7 delegates. Any resolutions we wish to present at the AFGA Conference need to be brought to the next regular meeting.
2.4 1st Brooks Scouts have been unable to attend the Alfred Lake Camp. The suggestion was made to extend this invitation and sponsorship to our youth members.
2.5 Rod Rosland suggested that we train additional firearms instructors to provide the National Firearms Course to new hunters as an extension of the Hunter Education program. Several members of the executive have come forward as potential trainers. Rod Rosland will look into AHEIA Instructor Training courses.
