MOTION – Kerry McKenzie moved that the Association advertise the internet weblog (www.brooksfishandgame.blogspot.com) in the local media in order to get the information to as many members as possible, seconded by Lloyd Cook. CARRIED.

– The Public Action for Wildlife Society (PAWS) would like to address our association, possibly at the next regular meeting. This group is concerned about the potential impact of the current Interim Metis Harvesting Agreement (Alberta) on wildlife management in Alberta. This will likely be scheduled for the December 13, 2005 regular meeting. For more information see the PAWS website www.protectalbertawildlife.com.
3.9 Rifle Range Chair (Lloyd Cook)
– 200 yard butt needs minor maintenance, all other repairs have been completed.

4.0 New Business
4.1 Awards Night Dinner – February 4, 2006
– donor lists and assignments will be distributed outside of the regular meeting.
4.2 Advertise Annual Meeting
– Patty Green will place ads.
4.3 Youth Clays and Feathers donation
– 6 youth shotguns are needed for this program. Cliff Healy will obtain prices on 4 – semi-automatic 20 guage and 2 – over/under 20 guage youth shotguns. These guns will be registered and stored by the Clays and Feathers association.
4.4 County Grant Application – the application has been made for a total of $5600 for the addition of a50 yard butts and shooting building for rimfire rifles, and gavel pathways to the butts (copy of application attached to official minutes)
4.5 Reg Russell, biologist for Alberta Fish and Wildlife, presented a report on the CWD culls performed on the deer population in the Oyen Alberta area. All carcasses were collected, inspected and donated to food banks in the province after being certified disease free. All hides were donated to the Alberta Fish and Game Association hide collection program.
5.0 Correspondence
5.1 Club Quad Contest
– AFGA is again raffling tickets to clubs at a cost of $100.00.
MOTION. Moved by Rod Svenson that the association purchase one ticket, seconded by Patty Green. CARRIED.
5.2 Archery Lease
– The association has received a letter from the City of Brooks granting a no-charge lease on the land adjoining the rifle range, to be used for an archery range. The association is responsible for any maintenance.
5.3 Hunting For Tomorrow
– As this is a province wide group and we are focused on local initiatives, it was decided that we decline the opportunity to donate funding to this initiative.
5.4 A letter of thanks has been received from Chloe Pratt, a participant in the MLA Novice Pheasant Hunt.
